Elon Musk controls around 62% of the satellites that are active and orbiting Earth

Elon Musk now controls about 62% of all the active satellites orbiting Earth after SpaceX successfully launched its 7,000th Starlink satellite.

This milestone brings the total number of active Starlink satellites to 6,370, which is nearly ten times more than its closest competitor, OneWeb.

Since 2019, SpaceX has been steadily increasing its Starlink satellite network by launching an average of three satellites every day.

The purpose of this growing satellite constellation is to offer high-speed internet and phone services to people all over the world. So far, Starlink is operational in 102 countries and serves over three million customers.

Looking ahead, SpaceX has big plans to expand its network even further. They aim to launch up to 42,000 satellites in the future to improve global connectivity even more.
