Women need more sleep than men because they use their brains more

Studies have found that women tend to fall asleep faster and spend more time in deep sleep, which may indicate that they need more rest.

However, women also face common sleep disruptors like insomnia, depression, and changes in hormones. Sleep expert Tom Coleman suggests there are multiple reasons why women might need more sleep.

He explains that one study pointed out women use more of their brains, which could increase the demand for rest.

Additionally, research shows that women spend more time in deep sleep compared to men. Deep sleep plays a key role in physical recovery, while light sleep is important for mental and emotional restoration.

Both types of sleep are essential for overall health. In summary, women may have a greater need for sleep due to their brain activity and the quality of their deep sleep.

However, sleep challenges like insomnia and hormonal shifts can disrupt their ability to get proper rest.

Getting enough sleep and maintaining a good sleep routine is important for both physical and mental well-being.
